In conjunction with National Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, Goodall-Witcher Healthcare offers state of the art 3D mammography with the technology that allows the patient to have more control. We have also remodeled our screening room, and we are currently taking appointments for using the latest in breast cancer screening.

Breast cancer screening has improved significantly in recent years with the advent of 3D mammography, or digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT). While traditional 2D mammography typically yields four images per patient, 3D mammography produces hundreds of images per patient, providing doctors more information and better images than ever before.

In addition, our new screening equipment allows you to take matters into your own hands, reaching optimum compression at your own pace, helping to reduce discomfort and anxiety.

DBT helps doctors find cancers earlier, when they may be more easily treated, with fewer false positives, which can be stressful for patients.

Goodall-Witcher Healthcare recently adopted new technology that further maximizes the benefits DBT offers women with the first FDA-cleared 3D tomosynthesis software using artificial intelligence (AI). The technology is clinically proven to enhance breast cancer detection, while significantly reducing the rate of false positives and unnecessary recalls for women.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is an advanced form of computer science that allows computers to learn and work like humans. AI is used in healthcare to help doctors review large amounts of data more quickly and accurately.

This software rapidly and accurately analyzes each 3D mammogram image, detecting cancers with unrivaled accuracy. Trained with one of the largest available 3D mammography datasets, this AI rapidly compares your mammography images against those it has learned from and alerts radiologists if suspicious areas may warrant a closer look.

It acts as another pair of eyes for doctors and it is the only software of its kind that offers clinically proven patient advantages over DBT alone, including:

-- 8% average increase in sensitivity over DBT alone

-- 6.9% average increase in specificity over DBT alone

-- 7.2 % average reduction in patient recalls

As your trusted radiology provider, Goodall-Witcher Healthcare works diligently to ensure our radiologists have the latest technology available, and our clinicians are passionate about providing the best possible patient care. We are proud to announce the addition of this leading-edge technology into our workflow for the analysis and interpretation of DBT cases. To make an appointment, call 254-675-8322, ext. 7340.
