Cardio-Pulmonary Rehabilitation

For patients experiencing chronic lung disease or serious cardiac events, Goodall-Witcher's cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation program offers a close-to-home, medically supervised, and individually tailored exercise and education program. The goal is for patients to gain strength and energy and learn new behaviors and information that help them improve their health and live healthier lives.

The cardiac program aids in the recovery from:

  • heart attack
  • coronary bypass surgery
  • heart valve repair/replacement
  • coronary antioplasty/stinting
  • stable angina
  • heart or heart and lung transplant.

The pulmonary program is for patients with chronic lung disease, such as emphysema, COPD, or cystic fibrosis.

Patients engage in cardiac-monitored exercise training to strengthen muscles and regain energy as well as education and counseling to learn healthy eating and exercise habits and more about their condition.

Staffed by a nurse, the cardio-pulmonary rehabilitation program is overseen by a physician available for consultation during program hours. Referring cardiologists also receive a monthly progress report on each patient to coordinate care and are consulted as needed if problems arise.
