Emergency and Trauma Care

Goodall-Witcher is a designated Level IV trauma facility prepared to care for patients experiencing all types of health care emergencies, including snake bites, cardiac or pulmonary arrest, stroke, fractures, lacerations, burns, motor vehicle accidents, and behavioral health crises. Our team of physicians, respiratory therapists, and nurses, including certified trauma nurses, is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

For patients experiencing a behavioral health crisis, such as a psychotic episode or having suicidal thoughts, we use telepsychiatric services for stabilization and treatment. We also use telestroke services when seconds count to stabilize patients experiencing a stroke.

As a designated Level IV trauma facility, Goodall-Witcher stabilizes patients experiencing a traumatic injury and prepares them for transfer, if needed, to a higher level facility. This process improves outcomes and the chance of a patient's full recovery. As part of our participation in the Heart of Texas Regional Advisory Council (HOTRAC), we have transfer agreements with larger hospitals and designated Level 1 trauma facilities. We also contract with ground EMS transport and air transport services to help with transfers of critical patients.
